Puddleducks’ Montessori Preschool Educational Programme

Our educational programme is based on the needs and interests of the children that are attending Puddleducks’ Montessori Preschool at any particular time and planning is done in teachers’ non-contact time and staff meetings. The programme is documented by links to Te Whāriki and the Montessori curriculum.

Families are encouraged to help us with our planning in any way that suits them and all teachers ensure that parents are kept fully informed of their progress by regular one to one contact with the parents.

We provide a ‘three hour work cycle’ in the morning session and ‘two hour work cycle’ in the afternoon. This allows children to continue their work without any interruption.

Children are exposed to calm and a peaceful environment.

The Montessori environment allows children to work at their own pace providing many opportunities to work with children individually. There are opportunities for children to work in small groups during the session and large group sessions during mat times.

At Puddleducks’ Montessori Preschool there are planned opportunities to the work of highest quality. Children have fun and learn at the same time, guided by skilled, inspiring and caring professionals who know how to extend their thinking and nurture the love of learning.

Children move between activities, exercising choices, developing independence and confidence. They learn about the world and start to understand how it works.
