Puddleducks’ Montessori

Philosophy, Mission Statement and Values

We work with families, communities and children to provide a Montessori programme for education within the framework of Te Whariki. Through this, we aim to nurture the development of children from age two and a half years to six years of age, fostering children’s love of learning and their natural desire for exploration and self discovery.

We pride ourselves in providing “Stepping stones the path to the future,” by having a fun; child centred educational programme delivered by a team of qualified, dedicated & caring teachers with excellent child-teacher ratios.

We view children as competent, capable, and independent learners who possess an inquiring and absorbent mind who learn in their own rhythm.

We believe that families/whanau and community are an important and integral part of a child’s life. We endeavour to create a supportive environment and to work collaboratively and within a great partnership to help children develop their potential.

As teacher’s we prepare and maintain a calm, stimulating and nurturing environment where we encourage, inspire, support and guide children whilst taking responsibility for their learning and development. We promote respectful and quality interactions and act as role models for others.

We value other theories and research and reflect on how these can be accommodated and incorporated into our programme.

Children at Puddleducks’ Montessori will have endless opportunities to explore, experiment and to discover at their own stages of development.

Above all Puddleducks’ Montessori children are happy.
